Friday, January 11th, 2019

karatekidArtsPark Funtastic Friday and Movie Night 5:00pm – 10:00pm: Bring the whole family, and some friends, to ArtsPark for music, face painting, bounce houses and games. The movie “The Isle of Dogs” will be shown at 8:00pm. Information available here.

Miami Lantern Light Festival, 5:00pm -11:00pm: Open through January 20th, Thursday – Sunday evenings is this fabulous festival. Located at the Miami Dade County Fairgrounds, plan a visit to enjoy the beautiful lanterns, food, amusements, acrobats and so much more. Food in Motion, 5:00pm – 11:00pm: This monthly event, at Peter Feldman Park, is one huge picnic! There is an artisan market, food trucks, baked goods and so much more! Bring your blankets and plan to spend an evening relaxing with friends. Visit their Facebook page for details.

City of Parkland Family Fun Fest, 6:00pm – 10:00pm: Pine Trails Park is the location for this fun, family event (that continues on Saturday and Sunday). Enjoy amusements, food, music and more. Details are available here.

surfFree Surf, Skim and Paddleboard Lessons, 7:00am – 9:00am: Island Watersports offers these free lessons weekly. All equipment is provided and participants must be able to swim. Visit their website to register.

Hollywood Beach Half Marathon and 5K: The weather should be beautiful for this inaugural run.Visit their website for more information and to sign-up!

Pet Palooza, 1:00pm – 5:00pm: ArtsPark in Hollywood is the site for this pet friendly afternoon. There will be adoptions, vendors, pet care information and more. Click here for details.

8th Annual Riverwalk Stone Crab and Seafood Festival, 11:00am – 5:00pm: Esplanade Park in Las Olas is the site for this fun and yummy street festival. Save your appetite, there is tons to eat and drink. Click here for more information.

Farmer’s Market at the Shops at Pembroke Gardens (in Pembroke Pines ), 10:30am – 7:00pm: Come by for a day of yummy shopping! This is the perfect place to grab your fresh fruits and veggies and a whole lot more. Check out their flyer.

NSU Basketball v. Tampa, 2:00pm and 4:00pm: Love basektball, come watch these college teams compete. Both the men’s and women’s teams are playing at the Rick Case arena. Click here for details.

Chris Hixon Memorial Run, February 16th: This 5K run honors the late Coach Chris Hixon, who lost his life on February 14th 2018 at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Proceeds benefit his scholarship fund. Coach Hixon was well-known for his dedication to his students at high schools throughout Broward County. Click here for details.
