Can you believe Halloween is almost here? If you’re anything like me, you want to take advantage of all of the Halloween Events in South Florida. 2018 is a busy year!! Check out our lists below for some ideas. Don’t forget to click the links below each activity to get more information on the locations and learn of any changes in details.

SOUTH FLORIDA (BROWARD) PUMPKIN PATCHES

You can’t have Halloween without a pumpkin. In fact, you can paint it, carve it (Click this link for some fun carving stencils) or simply place it on your front porch.  Below we’ve listed some Fort Lauderdale area pumpkin patches. Don’t forget your camera!!

St. Ambrose Pumpkin Patch (October 16th – 31st, 9:00am – 9:00pm): Visit St. Ambrose in Deerfield and pick up pumpkins, gourds, corn stalks and more; you can decorate your entire house!  Click here for more information.

Flamingo Road Nursery Harvest Festival and Pumpkin Patch (Daily through October 31st, 8am-6pm, some activities have a cost associated with them):

Consider stopping by this fabulous location and visit their pumpkin patch. Also, join them for a variety of children’s activities including crafts and hayrides. For more details, visit their website.

First United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch (Daily, October 12th – 31st):  Looking to pick a pumpkin? If so, visit this church in Coral Springs and select the perfect pumpkin, or pumpkins, for your family!  Even better, they are open daily!  Check their website for details.

TRICK-OR-TREATING IN SOUTH FLORIDA

Let’s face it, Halloween is practically synonymous with trick-or-treating and a bag full of sweet treats.  When those fun-sized candy bars and candy corn appear in stores, my mouth starts to water!  Door-to-door trick-or-treating in your home neighborhood is so much fun, but there are other opportunities as well.  Please, check them out!

 

The Shops at Pembroke Gardens (October 27th, 2-4pm): Join us for mall-wide trick-or-treating, character selfies, kids crafts and a pumpkin patch.  Click here for more details.

Trick-or-Treat Through the Trees (October 26th & 27th, 6-9 pm, ages 3-10,   $5 per child, preregistration required.): Visit for Halloween games, activities and crafts; then trick-or-treat through the forest.  This event is being held at the Long Key Natural Area and Nature Center in Davie.  Click here for more information, both on this event and other celebrations in Broward Parks.

Trunk or Treat (October 26th, 5:00pm – 8:00pm): Visit Pine Trails Park in Parkland for some Trunk or Treating, pumpkin picking and music!  Details available here.

2018 Halloween Spooktacular (presented by Joe Di Maggio Children’s Hospital (October 31st, 5-9pm): Join us at the Weston Town Center for a costume parade, trick-or-treating and a live show.  Visit their Facebook page to view their flyer.

FAMILY HALLOWEEN EVENTS AND COSTUME CONTESTS AND OTHER EVENTS IN SOUTH BROWARD

Costume contests, hayrides and festivals complete the Halloween season.  Gather your family and check out some of these innovative and interesting activities.

Early in the Month

Family Hayride and Campfire (Various Dates in October,  additional dates available in November and December):  Visit several Broward County Parks for the fun evening family activity.  Participate in a Hayride and make some delicious S’mores!  Details available here.

Harvest Festival at Flamingo Gardens (weekends in October):  Activities include hayrides (10am to 4pm), a pumpkin patch and decorating station, theme costume contests, scarecrows throughout the gardens, bounce houses, live character interactions, DJ Digital Anarchy spinning your favorite songs, games, and fall crafts and activities for the whole family. Each weekend features a special theme.

October 6th & 7th: Annual Great Scarecrow Weekend
October 13th & 14th: Pirates and Princesses Weekend
October 20th & 21st:  Super Heroes and Villains Weekend
October 27th & 28th: Halloween Weekend

10th Annual Halloween Horse Show and Fair (October 13th, 10:00am – 3:00pm): Visit the Sand and Spurs Equestrian Park for this family fun day. $1.00 buys admission for those 10 years of age and older and gets visitors a costume parade, pony rides, crafts fun and more.  Check out their Facebook page for more details.

 

 

Bow-Wow Ween, (October 13th, 9:00am – 1:00pm): Join the City of Pembroke Pines in this holiday event for your pup!  There will be costume contests, games, prizes and raffles. And, don’t miss the “Miss Bow-Wow Ween” contest; the winner of which will get a crown and sash!  Details available here.  We all love our pups! Looking for some other places to visit, click here.

Halloween Hoopla (October 19th 6:00pm – 8:00pm):  Visit Tamarac park for a fun Halloween celebration. There will be bounce houses, games and BSO demonstrations.  Look at the city’s website for details.

Family Halloween and Safety Festival (October 20th, 10:00am – 2:00pm): Sponsored by the City of Plantation, this event will be held at Volunteer Park.  For $5 per person (ages 2 and up) you can spend the day at a children’s carnival complete with pony rides, face painting hay rides, costume contests and more.  Visit their website for additional information.

Fall Harvest Festival (October 21st, 12:30pm – 4:00pm):  Stop by the Athletic Complex in Sunrise for this fun, holiday festival.  Pick a pumpkin, take a horse drawn hayride, play games and eat some delicious treats!  Take a look at their web page to see the flyer and get more information.

Halloween Weekend

Spooky Moonlit Movie and Business Expo (October 26th 4:00pm – 9:30pm): Come by The Fountains Shopping Center in Plantation for this fabulous family event featuring the movie Hocus Pocus, which will begin at 7:30.  Click here for more information.

Is it Haunted? (October 26th 7 PM – 9 PM, last entry into the museum is 8:15pm, $10 per person, limited availability):  Explore the 1918 Davie School, 1912 Viele House & Pioneer Home by flashlight!  Fun event for the family!  Visit their website for more information.

Halloween Happenings (October 27, 2018, 1:00-5:00pm at the Bergeron Rodeo Grounds, small fee for some activities): First, visit the pumpkin patch and haunted house. Then, jump in the bounce houses, explore the petting farm, and hop on a hayride.  Finally, participate in a costume contest and enjoy the food vendors. Children’s costume contest begins at 4:00 pm. Awards will be given for spookiest, cutest and most original costumes. And, get, this, there will even be a costume contest for your horse, at 2:30pm!  This event will be held rain or shine!  Visit their website for more information.

Costume Contest and Goodie Gathering (October 27th 10:00am –noon, no charge):  Visit the Cooper City Plaza Shopping Center for a fun morning of costume contests.    Arrive 5 minutes early to receive a contest number.  All children must be accompanied by an adult.  Stop by their website for more details on timing for age groups.

Trick or Trot 5K (October 27th, 7:30am): This second annual costume run at Markham Park offers something for everyone.  There is even a “dash” for kids.  And, prizes for the best costumes will be awarded.  Proceeds will benefit Paralyzed Veterans of America Florida Chapter.  Register early!  Details are available here.

 

 

Pembroke Pines Boo Ville Halloween Event (October 30th, 6:00pm – 9:00pm): Come by the Charles F. City Center and join us for an evening of events including our costume contest.  Enjoy rides, visit our pumpkin patch, stop by the trick-or-treat stations and participate in other fun Halloween activities.  For more information, click here.   Take a look at this video and get a heads up on what to expect!

Halloween Boo Bash (October 31st 5:00pm – 7:00pm): This event, at the Pompano Citi Center, is for children aged 10 and under. There will be games, music and a mad scientist magic show! Visit their website to learn more about it!

Wicked Manors Halloween Party (October 31st 5:00pm – 11:00pm): Sponsored by the Pride Center at Equity Park.   Trick or treat on the drive will begin at 5:00 and there will be a kids costume contests at 6:30pm.  Visit their website for more information.
