It’s that time again. Below we have identified some exciting things to do in South Florida this weekend, July 27th – 29th. Bugfest by the Sea, All Day:  It’s lobster mini season. Participate in this Fort Lauderdale event where you can catch up to 12 lobsters per day.  This event continues throughout the weekend!  More information is available on their website.

The Wizard of Oz, 11:00am – 5:00pm:  Come see this exhibit at the Frank C. Ortis Art Gallery in Pembroke Pines.  It is an educational and multi-sensory way to explore the Land of Oz.  Click here for more information.

ArtsPark Funtastic Friday  5:00pm – 8:00pm:  Bring the whole family, and some friends, to ArtsPark for music, face painting, bounce houses and games.   Information available here.

Friday Night Sound Waves, 6:00pm – 9:00pm:  Enjoy this free concert at the intersection of Las Olas Boulevard and AIA.  This event, which recurs every Friday evening, features a different performer each time.  Click here for more details.

Starlight Musicals, 7:00pm -10:00pm:  These free concerts, which take place on Friday evenings through August 10th at Holiday Park (east Sunrise Blvd and Federal Highway) are a great way to bring in the weekend.  Bring your blanket and cooler and enjoy an evening of live music.  For more information, click here.

Full Moon Paddleboard and Kayak Tour, 8:00pm: The Fuddled Frog is leading this full moon paddle.  What a lovely ad relaxing way to begin the weekend.  Click here for prices.

Saturday, July 28th, 2018

4 Ocean Beach Cleanup Event, 8:00am – 10:00am:  What a great way to give back to the environment.  Participate in this beach cleanup!  Meet just south of the Pompano Pier and click here for more info!

Summer Butterfly Walk at the Deering Estate, 11:00am – noon:  Participate in the guided butterfly walk and see how many you can identify!  The walk is free with paid entrance to the Estate.  Details are available here.

Antique Show, Noon – 8:00pm: With free admission, this is a great place to spend some time this weekend (open Friday and Sunday as well).  Visit the Seminole Casino at Coconut Creek and shop for antiques, jewelry, art and more.  Click here for more information.

Seminole Discovery Day, 1:00pm – 4:00pm:  Visit the Ah-Tah-Thi-Ki Museum and learn about the Seminole War Day. Details available here.

Family S.T.E.M:The Science of Sound!, 2:00pm – 3:00pm:  Visit the Alvin Sherman Library Research and Technology Center to participate in this high energy science show.  For more information, click here.

Scavenger Hunt and Concert, 5:00pm – 9:30pm:  Enjoy this family friendly scavenger hunt (work in teams) and concert at Pine Trails Park in Parkland.  Check out their flyer!

Magical Moths for Kids, 10:00am – 4:00pm:  The Long Key Natural Area and Nature Center is the site of this family program (which also takes place on Saturday).  Visit the Discovery Room and participate in hands on activities to learn all about moths!  Click here for information.

Paw Patrol Live, 10:00am and 2:00pm:  Do your kids LOVE Paw Patrol?  If so, order your tickets now for the live show at the Broward Center.  In addition to the two shows today, there are three Saturday 7/28.  Information is available here.

Oceanside, Noon – 5:00pm:  Visit the Great Lawn at the intersection of A1A and Atlantic and enjoy this Sunday afternoon fair.  There will be vendors, crafts and concessions, and kids can play in the splash fountains.  Details available here.

The Capitol Steps, 3:00pm:  This show, filled with political satire, is always a crowd favorite.  Save the date and buy your tickets early.  This is final show at the Broward Center; it is playing Friday and Saturday as well! Click here for more information.

Live Music, Gulf Stream Park, 7:00pm – 9:00pm:  This outdoor shopping area presents live music several nights a week.  Check out their website for who is playing!  Today, it’s Travis Bridges.  This is a great way to wind down the weekend.
