Friday, May 11th, 2018

ArtsPark Funtastic Friday and Movie Night, 5:00 – 10:00pm:  Bring the whole family, and some friends, to ArtsPark for music, face painting, bounce houses and games.  And, at 8:00pm you can settle down and watch the movie “Mom’s Night Out”.  Bring blankets and chairs for seating.  Information available here.

Honk, The Ugly Duckling Musical, 7:00pm: The Florida Children’s Theater Production of this enjoyable kids show will be at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center.  It’s a great show and great way to spend an evening with your children.  Note, it shows again on Sunday.  Click here for showtimes and ticket details.

James Taylor, 7:30pm:  Fans will love the fact that this singer/songwriter will be in concert at the BB&T Center. And, as a special bonus, Bonnie Raitt will be performing with him.  Visit their website for ticket information.

The Color Run, 7:30am: Huizenga Plaza is the site of this year’s super fun color run!  Register in advance and visit their website to learn more about this great opportunity for a morning of fun and exercise!

Festival at Old School Davie, 10:00am – 5:00pm: Visit the Old School Davie and help them celebrate their 100 year anniversary.  There will be fun for the whole family and free admission.  Check it out here.

Fort Lauderdale Pirate Festival, 11:00am – 7:00pmAdmission is free at Esplanade Park in Fort Lauderdale for this day long celebration.  Children’s activities, a pet costume contest and a competition for the area’s best rum cocktail are only a few of the fabulous events to enjoy.  Details are available here.

Roller Derby Game at Xtreme Action Park, 5:30pm: Visit Xtreme Action Park for this exciting Roller Derby contest featuring Gold Coast Roller Derby Grrls and Thunder City Derby Sirens.  For more information, visit their website.

Miami New Times and Zoo Miami Brew at the Zoo, 7:00pm:  Visit Zoo Miami where you can taste 100 different types of beer from around the world, eat some delicious food and listen to Flock of Seagulls. More information regarding admission available here.

Be Kind to Animals – All Critters Matter, 11:00Visit the Sawgrass Nature Center and Wildlife Hospital in Coral Springs for the regular Sunday morning program.    You can learn about the center and meet this week’s featured animal.  Information available on their website.

Avenue Q Children’s Edition, Noon:   Take your family to the children’s edition of this musical comedy integrating adults and children.  The event, which has additional shows, takes place at JCAT, the J’s Cultureal Arts Theater.  Details available here.
