Sacred Art Tour with the Tibetin Buddhist Monks, 10:00am – 5:00pm: Visit the Coral Springs Center for the Arts and share in the special traditions of these eight Monks. Watch them create a sand mandala, participate in workshops and learn all about their culture. This event, which continues throughout the weekend, is truly a special experience. The Hukilau, 10:00am – 8:00pm Check out the website for details on this Polynesian festival. There is so much to do, celebrate and learn! This event continues throughout the weekend, so take advantage of the opportunity! Be advised, hours and activities vary by day.
ArtsPark Funtastic Friday and Movie Night, 5:00 – 10:00pm: Bring the whole family, and some friends, to ArtsPark for music, face painting, bounce houses and games. And, at 8:00pm you can settle down and watch the movie “Princess Diaries”. Bring blankets and chairs for seating. Information available here.
Splash in Space, 6:00pm – 10:00pm: Visit Quiet Waters Park for this fun family evening event. There will be time in the water park, games and even a movie. Visit their Facebook page for more information. You must preregister and prepay.
Concert in the Park, 7:00pm: The City of Plantation features The Wildfire Bank at Plantation Central Park. Bring your chairs and blankets and enjoy this free concert. Food trucks will be present so you can even have dinner under the stars! Details available here.
Miami Marlins v. Padres, 7:10pm: This three game home set, beginning Friday evening, features post game fireworks on the 8th, “all you can eat Saturday” on the 9th and the Aquafina Family Four Pack on the 10th. Check out their website for details

Battle Florida, 9:00am – 8:00pm: This national flag football event features teams from across our region. Additionally, it is an open invite event, so anyone can register to play. Visit their website for details.
Super Splashtacular Summer, 10:00am – 6:00pm: Visit the Miami Seaquarium for the kickoff of this exciting summer event. The kids water play area, inside the park, will feature inflatable water slides and slip-n-slides, adding the fun during your visit to this park. Check out their website for additional details. This event continues throughout the summer.
Summer Splash Pet Adopt-a-Thon, 10:30am – 6:30pm: Hosted by the Humane Society of Broward, in Fort Lauderdale, this adoption event kicks off summer, which is a great time to adopt a pet. If you select a pet more than 6 months old, the adoption fee is half price. This event begins on Friday and continues on Sunday. Visit theirwebsite for details.
Free Cartoon Drawing Class, 4:00pm – 5:00pm: Register in advance for this free cartooning class at Barker Animation Art Gallery at Gulfstream Park. Visit their website for details. This is a great opportunity to have some fun with your kids and then check out the rest of Gulfstream; there is so much to do! And, even better, this event continues throughout the summer!
Feis Bowl – First Annual MSD Student v. Alumni Football Game, 5:00pm – 8:00pm: Come by the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Football Field to watch this first annual alumni flag football game. There will be tailgate games and food trucks. This is great way to support the community. Details available here.
Dania After Dark, 5:00pm – 10:00pm: Visit downtown Dania Beach for the kickoff of their summer festival series. There will be music, crafts, shops, art exhibits and food trucks. Groove + Green – Music, Brunch + Marketplace, 9:00am – 1:00pm: Come to the intersection of 441 and Margate Blvd. for this exciting new take on a Farmers Market. Broadway Kids Studio, Heathers the Musical (High School Edition), 1:00pm: Take the family to see this musical presentation at the Rose & Alfred Miniace Performing Arts Studio. Details on the show the studio are available on their website. Note, there is another performance on Saturday.
Rock the Library, Summer Reading Dance Kick-Off Party, 1:00pm – 4:00pm: Visit the NSU Alvin Sherman Library in Davie for this dance party kick off to summer reading. Rum Renaissance Festival, 2:00pm – 7:00pm: Check out their website for details on this exciting “rum”-filled weekend! Tickets must be purchased in advance for this two day extravaganza featuring lots of rum that will take place at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center. This event begins on Saturday.
