ArtsPark Funtastic Friday and Movie Night 5:00pm – 10:00pm: Bring the whole family, and some friends, to ArtsPark for music, face painting, bounce houses and games. The movie “Grease” will be shown at 8:00pm. Information available here.
Food in Motion, 5:00pm – 11:00pm: Visit Peter Feldman Park in Fort Lauderdale for this artisan food market that also features food trucks. This is the perfect place to have a Friday night picnic! Visit their Facebook page for additional information.
Splashtacular Family Friday, 6:00 – 8:00: Visit TY Park in Hollywood for this fun water event. Admission is $7 per person plus tax. Click here for more information.
Friday Night Sound Waves, 6:00pm – 9:00pm: Enjoy this free concert at the intersection of Las Olas Boulevard and AIA. This event, which recurs every Friday evening, features a different performer each time. Click here for more details.
Miami Marlins v. NY Mets, 7:10pm: Tonight is the first game in a three game home stand. Tonight is Modelo Burger and Beer Friday. Tomorrow’s event is floral jersey day and Sunday is Billy the Marlin’s Birthday. Click here for more details including game times!
Starlight Musicals, 7:00pm -10:00pm: These free concerts, which take place on Friday evenings through August 10th at Holiday Park (east Sunrise Blvd and Federal Highway) are a great way to bring in the weekend. Bring your blanket and cooler and enjoy an evening of live music. For more information, click here. This is the last concert of the summer series!
Popcorn Frights Film Festival, Various Times: This event, which runs August 10th – 16th, is a horror film fan’s dream! Held in the Savior Cinema, which used to be a church, this event shows films all week. Visit their website for details including ticket information.

Free Family Day at the Perez Art Museum in Miami, 10:00am – 6:00pm: On the second Saturday of each Month, the Perez Art Museum offers free admission to families. There will be activities from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Visit their website for additional information on this amazing opportunity.
Summer Spectacular Family BBQ and Picnic, 10:00am – 3:00pm: Sponsored by the Broward County Knights of Columbus, this family picnic and BBQ will benefit Special Olympics! The event will be held at All Saints Catholic Church in Sunrise. For $15 per adult (children under 8 are free) you receive a BBQ lunch! Details available here.
The Big Give Back – Keeping Kids Safe Mentally and Physically, 10:00am – 2:00pm: There will be food and music and lots of games, including bounce houses, at this back-school-event at Rev. Samuel Delevoe Park in Fort Lauderdale. Bicycle Safety will be addressed as well as many other issues of interest to both adults and children. Jurassic Quest, 9:00am – 8:00pm: This event, which takes place Friday and Saturday of this weekend as well, is the perfect place for dinosaur lovers! Held at the South Florida Fairgrounds, in Palm Beach County – this one may be worth the drive. Dinosaurs are everywhere! There are rides, fossil digs crafts and more. Back to School Weekend at Flamingo Gardens, 9:30am – 4:00pm: Visit Flamingo Gardens in Davie and celebrate Back to School! There will be music, crafts, contests and even waterslides! This event is taking place on Saturday, as well. Don’t forget your towel!! Details available here.
Back to School Luau, 11:00am – 3:00pm: Festival Marketplace on Sample Road is the site of this fun-filled back to school event. There will be hula dancers and fire eaters and lots of food! Sunrise Comicon, Noon – 7:00pm: This first time Comicon city event promises something for everyone. There will be art, games, panels, shows and more. Visit their website for details.
Live Music, Gulf Stream Park, 7:00pm – 9:00pm: This outdoor shopping area presents live music several nights a week. Check out their website for who is playing! This is a great way to wind down the weekend.
