Friday, May 18th, 2018

ArtsPark Funtastic Friday and Movie Night, 5:00 – 10:00pm:  Bring the whole family, and some friends, to ArtsPark for music, face painting, bounce houses and games.  And, at 8:00pm you can settle down and watch the movie “Dolphin Tale 2”.  Bring blankets and chairs for seating.  Information available here.

Pompano Beach Fishing Rodeo, 6:00-9:00pm:  Come by the Sands Patio Deck and listen to The Last World Band.  The event, with lots of fishing, continues throughout the weekend.  Details here.

Kids Night at the Museum, 6:00pm – 11:00pm:  Take advantage of the Parents Night Out opportunity hosted by Young at Art.  Kids come in their pajamas with a blanket and pillow and explore the museum, watch movies and have so much fun.  Check out their Facebook page for more information.

Broward Health North Stop the Bleed Event, 9:00am – 11:30am: Take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to help in case of an emergency as you wait for help.  Broward Health North is running this important event.  Please register in advance.  Information is available here.

Paint Party, 9:30 – 1:30:  Keep Port Everglades Ship Shape is the title of this Saturday morning event. Stop by and paint a recycled petroleum drum that will be used as a recycling bin or decorative trash at the port.  Visit their website for details, registration is required.

Island City Canoe Race, 10:00am:  Sign up and participate in a seven mile canoe relay race around Wilton Manors.  There will be a BBQ and live music after the race. Click here for more details on this fun event.

Reptiday, 10:00am – 5:00pm:  Visit the Universal Palms Hotel in Fort Lauderdale for this single day reptile show and sale. There will even be seminars and demonstrations.  Click here for ticket information.

MiniCon, 11:00am – 10:00pm:  South Plantation High School is the site for this “convention” for devoted anime, comics, superhero and video game fans.  Visit their website for details and ticket information.

Dania Beach Arts and Seafood Festival, 11:00am – 8:00pm: Mark your calendars for the weekend long event (stop by Sunday, as well) filled with art, crafts and lots of good food.  Details are available here.

Smoke on the Water BBQ Feast and Competition, Noon to 6:00pm:  Esplanade Park in Fort Lauderdale is the site of this mouthwatering feast and competition.  Visit their website to learn more about this event.

Justin Timberlake Concert, 7:30pm  Take the opportunity to see this amazing performer in concert at the BB&T center.  Ticket information available on their website.

Pembroke Pines Fundraiser Flea Market and Bazaar, 9:00am – 3:00pm:  This event (which also is running on Saturday) will benefit senior programs and Pembroke Pines Senior Residences.  Come and shop or reserve a table today.  Details on how to participate are available here.  The event will take place at SW Focal Point Community Center.

Unifest, Noon:   Celebrate everything Carribean at this  festival in Fort Lauderdale.  With activities for the whole family this weekend long (Friday and Saturday too) event promises fun for everyone.  Details, including ticket information, are available on their website.

Farmers Market at the Yard, 4:00pm – 8:00pm:  Take the family for a ride to Wynwood and experience this farmers market.  There will be lots of fruits and veggies, plus other food and event crafts.  Details here.

Memorial Day Kidz Fest at Flamingo Gardens, May 26th – 28th:  Visit Flamingo Gardens for weekend of kids activities as well as the beautiful Barowski Glass Art Exhibit: Fables and Fairytails.  Details available here.

Rum Renaissance Festival, June 9th-10th:  Check out their website for details on this exciting “rum”-filled weekend!

Maroon 5, June 17th:  Reserve your tickets now for this fabulous group.  The concern is sure to be amazing.  Ticket information available on the BB&T website.
