Located on Paladin Way in Plantation, South Plantation High Schools serves a community of students numbering more than 2,200. It is home to the Environmental Magnet Program and CAPE and CTE Academies.
Schedules
Daily classes operate on an A/B block schedule. This means that students are enrolled for seven academic classes and one “study hall”. Periods 1-4 meet on A days, while periods 5-8 meet on B days. The days alternate and each period lasts approximately 90 minutes. Among the broad range of courses offered are several Advanced Placement classes. Students are also offered the opportunity to dual enroll.
After School Activities
With an active student body, extra curricular activities are an important component to the school’s “personality”. There are over 20 clubs, including honor societies.  Athletics are also popular at the school. Known as the Paladins, student-athletes participate in more than over 15 sports and are supported enthusiastically by the student body.
Parent involvement is welcomed. The school has a PTSO and parents are also encouraged to become involved in the school’s SAC and SAF committees.
Feeder Schools
Portions of the student bodies of Plantation Middle, Parkway Middle, New River Middle and Seminole Middle Schools feed into South Plantation High School. Administration and staff at all of these schools work closely to ensure that the transition to high school is a smooth one. For more information on South Plantation High School, please visit their website.
