Welcome to our last weekend update for 2017!  As always, the list below contains some of the events we believe look especially fun for the upcoming weekend; but there are many others to choose from.  We hope our information provides a great starting point for you to plan this holiday weekend.

Gallery Night, 6-10pm: Located at 600 Breakers Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, this recurring weekly event (which is free) features everything from local artists to movies.  Check out their website for more information .

The Chinese Lantern Festival:  Learn more about Chinese culture and view the beautiful lantern display. This ongoing event runs through January 15th.  Open from 5:30-10pm , there is a charge for entry.  Click here for more details

The Orange Bowl:  If you’re a college football fan, this may be the perfect event for you.  Watch the Wisconsin Badgers take on the our own Miami Hurricanes.  Scheduled start is 8:00pm. Tickets are available from ticketmaster.  Can’t make it out to the game, check your local sports bars!

Downtown Countdown:  In Fort Lauderdale (SW 2nd Street and SW 5th Ave), this street-festival event is a “two-parter”.  From 3:30-8:30pm there are family activities including a kids’ new years count down at 7:00.  Then, from 8:30-1:30 there is live music and fireworks at midnight. Young At Art will host its annual “Noon Years Eve Party” from 10:00am -3:00pm in Davie.  This fun day-time celebration includes art activities and a balloon drop at noon.  Visit their website here for more information on activities and admission details.

Pitbulls New Years Revolution: If you want to head down to Bayfront park in Miami, you ring in the new year with Pitbull.  There will be lots of music, lots of people and the Big Orange rises at midnight.  It’s going to be loud and crowded; but it promises to be an exciting way to celebrate. Noon Years Eve at the Miami Children’s Museum:  Visit this beautiful museum for a fabulous daytime celebration and ring in the “noon year” with your kids.  There will be dancers from the Miami City Ballet and a balloon drop at noon.  Visit their website more details regarding activities and prices.

Party at Park:  This free family New Year’s Eve Party at Gulfstream Park includes party favors, light shows, bands and cirque performers.  Bring the family and celebrate the new year!  This event runs from 8:00pm -2:00am.  Click here for more details.
