It’s that time again. Below we have identified some exciting things to do in South Florida this weekend. Happy October! In preparation for Halloween we have posted a blog detailing many of the events taking place this month. We encourage you to visit it and plan in advance. We will incorporate events that fall on weekends in these posts as well; but the blog gives you the chance to plan ahead! If you are aware of an event we haven’t mentioned, please let us know so we can share it!

Friday, October 19th, 2018

ArtsPark Funtastic Friday and Movie Night 5:00pm – 10:00pm: Bring the whole family, and some friends, to ArtsPark for music, face painting, bounce houses and games. The movie “Poltergeist” will be shown at 8:00pm. Information available here.

Halloween Hoopla, 6:00pm – 8:00pm Visit Tamarac park for a fun Halloween celebration. There will be bounce houses, games and BSO demonstrations. Look at the city’s website for details.

Friday Night Sound Waves, 6:00pm – 9:00pm: The intersection of Las Olas Blvd and A1A is the place to be for weekly Friday night concerts. This week come see the Pocket Change. Visit their website for details on this concert and future ones as well.

Freaky Friday, 7:30pm: The Broward Center for the Performing Arts is the site for this family friendly and fun show! There are additional times throughout the weekend for this Disney production. Click here for more details and ticket information.

Saturday, October 20th, 2018

k-9 Water Festival, 9:00am – 5:00pm: visit Topeekeegee Yugnee (TY) Park with your well behaved pup for a day of fun in the waterpark. Admission is $5.00 per dog per 50 minute session. There is a separate area for smaller dogs too. Click here for more information. This event continues tomorrow, as well. Looking for something to do after the event? Consider a trip to one of Broward’s awesome dog parks!

Holiday Fantasies 2018 Craft Show, 9:00am – 3:00pm: The South West Focal Point Community Center is the site for this three day craftt show (hours vary on Friday and Sunday). Admission is free of charge and visa and master card are accepted for purchase.

Fall Festival at Bedners Farm Fresh Market, 9:00am – 6:00pm: It may be worth the ride up to Boynton Beach for this amazing festival. In addition to your “typical” fall events, like a corn maze and pumpkin patch, there are great veggies and fruits for sale and even an animal encounter (with a kangaroo)! Flamingo Gardens Harvest Festival, 9:30am – 4:00pm: Its the 9th Annual Great Scarecrow Weekend at Flamingo Gardens. Enjoy the park and the special Superheroes and Villains Weekend! Come by celebrate and take advantage of everything this fabulous park has to offer. This event continues on Sunday. Click here for more information.

Family Halloween and Safety Festival, 10:00am – 2:00pm: Sponsored by the City of Plantation, this event will be held at Volunteer Park. For $5 per person (ages 2 and up) you can spend the day at a children’s carnival complete with pony rides, face painting hay rides, costume contests and more. Las Olas Art Fair, 10:00am – 5:00pm This annual event is a fan favorite! Save the date and plan to spend the day wandering through the streets of Las Olas and admiring some beautiful art. Even better, the festival continues tomorrow! Click here for details. Have some time, grab brunch downtown!

South Florida Seafood Festival, 11:00am: Key Biscayne is the site of the two day festival of seafood EVERYTHING! The event takes place at the Miami Marine Stadium and includes music, food, drinks and a family fun zone. Visit their website for more details. And remember, this event is tomorrow as well!

Florida Panthers v. Detroit Red Wings, 7:00pm: The BB&T Center is Sunrise is the site of this exciting Hockey Game. Visit their website for ticket information.

River of Grass Concernt Series, 8:00pm – 10:00pm: The Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Davie is hosting this concert series. Tonight see Carla Ulbrech who sings a host of original material. You are guaranteed to have a smile on your face. Click here for more details.

Tamarac Farmers Market, 9:00am – 2:00pm: Veterans’ Memorial Park is the site of this fabulous farmers market which occurs every Sunday in the fall. Stop by and pick up some delicious treats! Click here for the City’s calendar.

Kitober Fest, 10:00am: Visit Haulover Park in Miami for this two day festival dedicated to kites! You can bring a kite or buy one there. There will be contests and activities for adults and kids alike. This promises to be super fun and also takes place on Saturday! Click here to learn more.

Be Kind to Animals, 11:00am: Visit the Sawgrass Nature and Wildlife Hospital for this weekly program where guests are introduced to a new animal ambassador. Click here for more information.

Pompano Beach Brazilian Festival, 11:00am: Visit Pompano Beach and participate in this two-day event (it also takes place on Saturday the 20th). There will be art, music, food and fun! Visit their website for details.

Fall Harvest Festival, 12:30pm – 4:00pm: Stop by the Athletic Complex in Sunrise for this fun, holiday festival. Pick a pumpkin, take a horse drawn hayride, play games and eat some delicious treats! Take a look at their web page to see the flyer and get more information.

Live Music, Gulf Stream Park, 7:00pm – 9:00pm: This outdoor shopping area presents live music several nights a week. Check out their website for who is playing! This is a great way to wind down the weekend.

Upcoming Events

The Shops at Pembroke Gardens (October 27th, 2-4pm): Join us for mall-wide trick-or-treating, character selfies, kids crafts and a pumpkin patch. Click here for more details.

Trick-or-Treat Through the Trees (October 26th & 27th, 6-9 pm, ages 3-10, $5 per child, preregistration required.): Visit for Halloween games, activities and crafts; then trick-or-treat through the forest. This event is being held at the Long Key Natural Area and Nature Center in Davie. Click here for more information, both on this event and other celebrations in Broward Parks.

Trunk or Treat (October 26th, 5:00pm – 8:00pm): Visit Pine Trails Park in Parkland for some Trunk or Treating, pumpkin picking and music! Details available here

2018 Halloween Spooktacular (presented by Joe Di Maggio Children’s Hospital (October 31st, 5-9pm): Join us at the WestonTown Center for a costume parade, trick-or-treating and a live show. Visit their Facebook page to view their flyer.
