Friday, August 17th, 2018

ArtsPark Funtastic Friday and Movie Night  5:00pm – 10:00pm:  Bring the whole family, and some friends, to ArtsPark for music, face painting, bounce houses and games. The movie “Captain Underpants” will be shown at 8:00pm.  Information available here.

Friday Night Sound Waves, 6:00pm – 9:00pm:  Enjoy this free concert at the intersection of Las Olas Boulevard and AIA.  This event, which recurs every Fridayevening, features a different performer each time.  Click here for more details.  Tonight you can see the Fireside Prophets!

Def Leppard and Journey, 7:00pm:  Come see two of the worlds greatest rock bands and enjoy an evening of amazing music.  The BB&T Center is the site of this fabulous concert.  Click here for details and tickets.

Beer and Brew Fest, 7:00pm – 11:00pm:  Visit Miramar Town Plaza for this fun Friday evening event.  Admission is free and food and drinks are available for purchase.  There will be live music as well.  Visit their Facebook page for additional details.

Back to School Event, 10:00am – 1:00pm:  Patch Urban Farm in Dania is hosting its “Back to School” event.  Stop by for a morning of fun including educational activities and crafts.  Click here for more information.

SoFlo Wine and Beer Festival, 2:00 pm – 10:00pm: Visit Arts Park in Hollywood for the first ever SoFlo Wine and Beer Festival.  Tickets are available for $25 (early bird) to $40 dollars.  There will be music, art, cooking demos and more.  Click here for details and tickets.

Big Buck Music Festival, 4:00pm – 9:00pm: This family friendly music festival, held at the recreation center on SW 2nd street in Deerfield, promises to be an evening of fun.  There will be entertainment, food and drinks and lots of fun.  Click herefor more information.

Downtown Hollywood Artwork 5:00pm – 10:00pm: This event, which recurs on the third Saturday of each month, provides visitors to visit local shops and galleries, enjoy live entertainment and music and even take a tour of all of the murals.  This night is always filled with fun, click here for more information.

Jamaica Tallawahs vs. Guyana Amazon Warriors West Indies Legends Cricket Match, 10:00am – 8:00pm:  What a great opportunity to learn about the sport of cricket.  The game will be played at Central Broward Regional Park and Stadium.  Admission starts at $15.00.  Click here for more information. (Jamaica plays another game on Sunday)

SW Focal Point August Flea Market and Bazaar, 9:00am – 3:00pm: Stop by the Pembroke Pines Southwest Focal Point Community Center and check out what’s for sale.  This two day event (open on Saturday, too) is open to the public both for shopping and selling.  Interested in participating?  Click here for details.

PNC Arts Alive, Free Family Day, Noon – 5:00pm: Bring your family to the Art and Cultural Center in Hollywood for this free family day and participate in their exciting crafts.  Today they will be making a “proggy flag”.  Click here for additional details.

Complimentary Kids DIY Workshop, 2:00pm – 3:00pm: Visit Field of Flowers on University Drive in Davie for this fun children’s event.  Kids ages 5-12 will take a tour of the flower shop and create their own complimentary arrangement.  For more information, visit their website.

Live Music, Gulf Stream Park, 7:00pm – 9:00pm:  This outdoor shopping area presents live music several nights a week.  Check out their website for who is playing! This is a great way to wind down the weekend.
