Hollywood, Florida, what a great place to live! Located on the eastern coast of the state, between Fort Lauderdale and Miami, the City of Hollywood is home to 143,000 people and is about 30 square miles in size. This city on the ocean boasts beautiful weather, with annual high temperatures in the mid 80’s and lows in the upper 60’s.

Thinking about moving here? There are so many reasons why you should. First, of course, is the fabulous location. Residents of Hollywood are in close proximity to some of the most fabulous beaches in Florida. They are also near the famous Hollywood Beach Broadwalk, which spans two and half miles along the beach. The Broadwalk is home to shops, restaurants and resorts; residents of Hollywood get to live where others dream of vacationing!

The city offers a broad range of housing options, from apartments and rentals to single family homes and planned residential communities. Additionally, residents of Hollywood with school age children utilize the Broward County School District, one of the largest in the nation. There are also several private schools, both in Hollywood and neighboring towns.

Perhaps one of the most exciting things about living in Hollywood is all that the city has to offer. In addition to the Broadwalk, the city is home to a number of parks ( many of which host special events, festivals and family activities.) The city website hosts a calendar where many of these events are chronicled. From art shows to outdoor family movies, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

If professional sports are more your speed, the city is located near stadiums and arenas for the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, Florida Panthers and the Miami Dolphins. You can easily support our home teams! Additionally, concerts and cultural activities occur regularly. Locally, the Hollywood Bandshell hosts weekly concerts, and the BB&T and the American Airlines Arena bring in some of the nation’s biggest stars. Finally, The Broward Center is home to a host of cultural activities, including well-known musicals and plays and The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino always has something fabulous.

Hollywood is also home to some of South Florida’s most prestigious medical facilities. Memorial Healthcare System Corporate Offices, Memorial Regional Hospital and Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital are all located here. Both hospitals are well-known and have excellent reputations. They provide a broad range of services and have, on staff, some of the most respected physicians in the country. The Memorial Healthcare System employs 13,000 people and constantly feature job listings on their website. If you are relocating and work in the healthcare industry, this provides an excellent opportunity.

Obviously, the location of the City of Hollywood makes it an attractive place to live. Close to both Fort Lauderdale and Miami, commuting to work is convenient. Residents are less than 11 miles to Fort Lauderdale and 20 miles to Miami. There are public transportation options, through Broward Transit, that facilitate travel; it doesn’t get better than that!
