Located in on NE13th 16th Avenue in Pompano Beach,  Pompano Beach High School is part of the Broward County Public School System and serves over 1,200 students.  The school is accredited by The Southern Association of Colleges & School (SACS). In addition to its traditional high school curriculum, this A rated school is also home to the International Affairs with Information Technology Magnet Program, which is extremely well regarded.  In fact, it has been the recipient of the Magnet Award School of Distinction.

Schedules

Operating on an A/B Block schedule, students are scheduled for eight classes (seven academic and one “study hall”) and attend four on each of the alternating A/B days.  Classes are approximately 90 minutes in length, providing time for instruction as well as supplemental academic activities. Over 20 AP classes are offered in addition to a broad range of honors and traditional classes.  The broad range of offerings assures the school can meet the needs of all of its students.

After School Activities

After school activities are equally as diverse and well-respected.  The students, whose mascot is the Golden Tornado, participate in more than 10 clubs and organizations on campus. Additionally,  there are a number of active academic honor societies. Finally, the school  is home to 17 sports teams  including basketball, football and soccer. The student body is extremely well-rounded and involved.
