It’s that time again.   Below we have identified some exciting events happening in South Florida this weekend. Friday, April 27th, 2018

Pompano Beach Seafood Festival, 5:00 – 10:00pm:  Partake in this weekend (Saturday and Sunday, too) of fun!  There will be live bands, vendors and lots of food.  Hours vary daily, so check their website for information.  There is also an admission charge.

Taste of Oakland Park, 6:00-9:00pm:  Jaco Pastorius Park is the site for this annual event.  A $15 entry fee entitles you to admission and food and drink samples from all participants.  Children under 12 are free.  Click here for additional details.

Family Movie Night, Moana, 8:00-10:00pm:  Gather in ArtsPark in Hollywood for their regular family Friday movie night. This week it’s a fabulous Disney favorite.  Bring chairs, blankets and your friends for a fun evening under the stars.  Additional details are available on their website.

Saturday, April 28th, 2018

Feeding South Florida Food Drive, 8:00am – 2:00pm:  Feeding South Florida is holding their food drive in conjunction with the Community Farmers Market at Volunteer Park in Plantation.  Visit the farmers market and bring along something to donate to help others in need.  Details, including the types of food needed, are available here.

South Florida Cake and Candy Expo, 10:00am – 5:00pm:  Held at the Miami Airport Convention Center, this two day event (Saturday and Sunday) is simply everything cake and candy.  Classes, vendors and exhibits make this a simply sweet way to spend your weekend.  Visit their website for ticket information as well as more details.

Pines Day, Noon – 6:00pm: Help Pembroke Pines celebrate its 58th birthday at this family fun celebration.  With a carnival like theme, there will be something for everyone.  Click here for more information.

Fort Rock, 1:00pm:  This music and food festival (which has Ozzy Osborne performing on Sunday) will be held at Markham park. It is a two-day event with multiple stages and bands.  Tickets are required, so visit their website for details.

Jeff Dunham Passive Aggressive, 5:00pm:  Visit the website of the BB&T Center to purchase tickets for the ventriloquist and comedian.  The show promises lots of laughs and an enjoyable evening.

Rent, 7:30pm:  Contact the Broward Center in Fort Lauderdale and purchase your tickets for the award winning musical Rent.  Details and ticket prices are available on their website.

Sunday, April 29th, 2018

Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash Fort Lauderdale 5K, 6:00am – 11:00am:  Participate in the 10th anniversary of this event.  You can walk and run with this group to encourage a future with “no more victims”.  Visit their website to register.

The Wizard of Oz, Noon:  The MUSE Children’s Theater is presenting this family favorite at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center.  Consider this show for an afternoon of family fun.  Details available here.
